The design brief was to design a link between humans and nature.
My team member and me wanted to work on a usable prototype this time.
So we decided to get all the bigger architectural approaches that we thought of away and work on a portable skateboard kicker.
Version1
After finishing the first prototype we went to a berlin skatepark and asked the skaters to use it and tell us about their wishes and concerns about our design.
Version 2
On this point we decided to take our old approach and changed it to the user groups demands and critiques.
Therefore we made it more compact and even adjustable to the riders level so this is not only for experienced skates but also for young/new skaters and especially women who may feel opressed by the experienced mostly male skaters at the park.
For the construction of the fnal parts we used a 3 axis cnc milling machine to make it work.
After the construction I qiuckly had to learn how to use a sewing machine to sew a backpack for our ramp. The backpack is made out of 100% hempfabric and some 100% cotton the only part wich is made out of plastic is the board strap. This leads me to one of the main criterias for our whole product.
We wanted to exclusively use recycable materials and to use a small variety of materials. Doing that we thought of making the product easy do disasembly and therefore easy to repair and easy to recycle.
(for example you can change the adjustments by using the commonly used skate tools)
