In 2023, the project HempHome won the Green Concept Award in architecture and tiny houses.
The Green Concept Award honors students for their sustainable product and service concepts in different categories each year.
The design is inspired by brutalistic architecture to center attention on the material in use, HEMPCRATE.
HEMPCRATE is a sustainable building material made from hemp shards, chalk, and water.  It is fireproof, moisture regulating, antifungal, absorbs bad scents and CO2, and can be used as fertilizer for agriculture after the building's lifespan.
The project is a redesign of the original semester project, hemp home, that I did with my fellow design student Luca Reichert with the help of Prof. Sebastian Feucht and hemp engineer Henri Pauli.
This time, I followed a more scalable approach and worked on some technical solutions to come closer to a realistic concept
